About Us
Bright Futures Alliance was founded by Newark native Davidson Charles, who grew up witnessing the long-term impact of financial exclusion in his own community. Determined to change that narrative, he launched BFA to give youth the financial tools, knowledge, and real-world access needed to build generational wealth. Through culturally relevant education and mentorship, we help young people take control of their futures and rewrite what's possible.

Smart Starts in Action
Smart Starts is Bright Futures Alliance’s flagship program that equips youth with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make smart financial choices. Through engaging lessons, hands-on activities, and real-world tools, students learn how to budget, save, invest, and begin building generational wealth.
